Phakic lenses

At Lensclinic, we implant innovative STAAR Surgical-EVO Vision ICL phakic lenses, which are intraocular, posterior chamber lenses and are individually selected for each patient during the qualification visit. Their high compatibility guarantees great tolerance. They have a UV filter that protects the eye against UVA and UVB radiation.

They are recommended for patients aged 21-50 years with intolerance to contact lenses and glasses and who do not qualify for laser vision correction. They enable the correction of myopia up to -18D, farsightedness up to + 10D and astigmatism up to + 6D. Contraindications to the procedure are under 21 years of age, unstable vision defect, glaucoma, cataracts, diabetes, corneal dystrophy.

The procedure takes about 30 minutes. The eyes are operated with an interval of about one month. Before the qualification procedure, soft contact lenses should be removed 2 weeks earlier, and hard contact lenses – 4 weeks earlier.

Preparation for the procedure as in the case ofcataract treatments.

The procedure is performed by Prof. dr hab. Katarzyna Michalska-Małecka.
